Ph.D. in Sociology
The programme aims to develop an interdisciplinary approach in social science education and research with a special emphasis on comparative and historical perspectives, using international body of scholarly literature and research. The students are expected to combine theory and prexis (practice).
Outcomes
- To interpret knowledge produced by society from a sociological perspective
- To renew, improve their accumulation and construct new knowledge by following up-to-date publications and research programs
- To produce original and expert solutions within and outside the discipline and in interdisciplinary levels
- To implement the ethics of sociological research
- To analyze, in comprehensive and expert ways, social, environmental, and economic effects in the areas where sociological approaches are appropriated
- To use and transfer the accumulation of sociological knowledge in an interdisciplinary way
- To analyze social structures and dynamics by correlating the past, the present and the future, and to identify new structures and dynamics
- To connect social theories of knowledge and social practices with an expert view
