Students are intended to be trained with knowledge of past and current architectural developments in the West and Turkey within a cross-cultural framework, to be familiarized with research techniques and to be equipped with skills of criticism and evaluation of architectural works. Original research in arhitecture in Anatolia through the ages and in the 19th and 20th Century Turkish Architecture are specially encouraged.
