Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering
he program through doctoral dissertation aided by courses aims to provide maturity in thr knowledge as well as to advance it beyond the level already known. The ability to conduct independent research, the creativity in the tools and techniques of research, ability for formulating steps to reach new synthesis are the main objectives.
Outcomes
- They define scientific and/or technical questions/issues in their field; develop solutions using original, innovative and systematic research approach and methods.
- In addition to developing new and/or innovative ideas and methods to develop biomedical devices, materials and systems, they design and develop manufacturing processes as well as finds innovative / alternative solutions.
- They have in depth knowledge on current engineering techniques and methods and their limitations.
- They have general knowledge on current medicine and health sciences techniques and methods and their limitations.
- They have the ability to follow and implement the most recent academic and technical literature in the biomedical field.
- They have the ability to develop interdisciplinary theoretical and/or applied research projects.
- They are active and successful in teaching and transferring their expertise in the biomedical field to new researchers, technicians and engineers.
- They have the awareness of academic and medical research / practice ethics.
