M.S. with thesis in European Studies

The objective of this interisciplinary graduate program is to provide students with specialized knowledge on political, legal, social and economic aspects of European integration. The program also aims at locating Turkey in the context of a changing and enlarging Europe and examines how and in what ways might the movement of Turkey towards European Union affect structures and policies of Turkey.

Outcomes

  • Can take the lead in analyzing issues which necessitate an interdisciplinary approach; they are creative, independent and critical thinkers.
  • Have advanced knowledge on Europe's economic, political, legal and social dynamics.
  • Use their knowledge and abilities to understand the global problems and contribute to the solution of those problems.
  • Can systematically evaluate and use new information/knowledge in their field.
  • Recommend and generate policies for Turkey's multi-faceted relations with European countries.
  • Have the ability to conceptualize, practice, make analysis of, synthesis and evaluate the knowledge that is acquired from divergent sources.
  • Can defend their original views and effectively communicate on the selected topics within their fields.
  • Have the ability to understand people from different cultures, religions and life styles, communicate and work in cooperation with them.
