Ph.D. in Geological Engineering
The objective of the doctoral program is to make students satisfy independent research, comment on the scientific events with wide and deep point of view, determine necessary steps to reach new synthesis. A doctoral dissertation must fulfill one of the following qualifications: (1)demonstrate some new aspects to the field, (2) use a new scientific method, or (3) apply a known method to a new field.
Outcomes
- by doing scientific research in the related field, get up to date knowledge, evaluate, interpret, apply and specialize;
- have advanced ability in management and communication skills, including problem definition, project design, decision processes, teamwork, written and oral reports, scientific publications to formulate and solve a problem in the related field;
- use interdisciplinary knowledge related to the field of interest, synthesize and reach peculiar results;
- contribute the scientific literature to design and to improve socio-economical-technical systems;
- be able to conduct scientific research in the field of interest;
- be able to apply critical reasoning in their professional careers;
- committed to the academic ethics;
- well prepared to live and work in a diverse global environment;
- play an important role in the enlightening of the society.
