Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the organ systems involved in human movement, as well as the acute responses and long-term adaptations of the body to physical activity. Students will also be introduced to laboratory and field methods for assessing physiological responses to exercise, with a focus on applying theoretical knowledge to practical contexts in sport, exercise, and health.

 


Course Content

This course includes the examination of functions of cells, tissues, organs and systems that make up the human body; short-term and long-term adaptation of the human organism to physical exertion; energy systems; physiological basis of training; recovery and fatigue after exercise; and field and laboratory tests in exercise physiology.
