Course Objectives

At the end of this course, the student will learn:

  • basic concepts of traffic psychology
  • critical research and field practice examples in traffic psychology
  • how to conduct small-scale research in traffic psychology
  • traffic safety strategies and administrations in Türkiye

Course Content

The major aim is to involve the students in a typical research activity in their field of interest including designing of research, data collection, analysis of the results, and writing up a research report. Areas in which workshops will be offered will be announced, together with the course codes, each semester. Prerequisite: Consent of the instructor.


Course Learning Outcomes

Student, who passed the course satisfactorily will be able to:

  • see the critical value of the science of psychology in traffic safety
  • understand and experience the multidisciplinary nature of traffic safety
  • identify and work on safety related problems in traffic settings
  • construct scientific solutions on how to improve traffic safety
