Course Objectives
At the end of this course the student will learn:
different methods of job analysis and comparing the usefullness of them
different methods of recruitment and Turkish labor laws as they related to the topics of industrial psychology
to evaluate the usefullness of a test utilized for personnel selections in organizaitons
how to conduct need analysis for the training programs
to develop performance evaluation techniques
to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs
the theories of motivation applied to the working people
the job attitudes and their consequences in terms of behavioral outcomes
different theories of leadership and sources of power
the formation of groups and teams
Course Content
This course provides a general overview of industrial psychology. Topics, such as methods used in the science and practice of industrial psychology, job analysis, criterion development, personnel selection, placement and training, and performance appraisal are covered with the purpose of providing a foundation in both theoretical and applied areas of the field.
Course Learning Outcomes
Student, who passed the course satisfactorily will be able to:
develop research problem and hypothesis from the existing one
apply principle of personnel selection and testing to the real organizaitons
develop performance evaluation systems and programs for the organizations
develop need analysis system for the organizations for training and development
evaluate the training programs offered in the organizations
apply personnel tests in industry
make good jugement related to selecting the best fitting person to the job
