Course Objectives

By the end of this course, the students will develop a perspective on various methods of teaching science in middle schools.


Course Content

Science teaching strategies, methods, techniques, materials and practices; development and implementation of science lesson plans; science teacher competencies.


Course Learning Outcomes

Upon the completion of this course, we expect that our students will be able to;

  • Utilize specific teaching methods in planning effective science learning by using technology.
  • Plan and implement effective science activities in online learning environment.
  • Design and implement instruction for teaching the content and processes of science in a way that addresses the nature of science and the nature of the learner.
  • Develop instructional plans in middle school science that enable students acquire knowledge.
  • Develop attitudes, and skills essential to science literacy.
  • Develop and implement safe and effective science learning environments.
  • Use currently available technology, audio-visuals, and concrete instructional devices and materials to enhance student learning.
  • Utilize a variety of techniques for assessing science learning.
