Course Objectives
To supply graduate students with the knowledge of nonequilibrium flows of gases at the molecular level. To enable students to understand the kinetic theory and to study translational, vibrational and chemical nonequilibrium flows of gases.
Course Content
High temperature flows. Equilibrium and nonequilibrium kinetic theories. Flows with translational nonequilibrium. Flows with vibrational and chemical nonequilibrium. Radiative gas dynamics.
Course Learning Outcomes
A firm understanding of basic concepts of molecular motion by studying kinetic theory. Acquire the ability to analyze the gas flows in translational, vibrational and chemical nonequilibrium.
