Course Coordinator: | Assoc.Prof.Dr. BURCU BURAK BAKIR |
Offered Semester: | Fall or Spring Semesters. |
Course Objectives
In this course, detailed information will be given on types of fiber reinforced cementitious composites, their behavior under different loading schemes and the effect of material selection on their performance. The latter stages of the course will be devoted to the structural applications of this material.
Course Content
Characterization of fiver reinforced cementitious composites (FRCC); fiber types; matrix types; mix design; properties of fresh FRCC mixtures; properties of hardened FRCC under compression, tension, bending and shear loading; cracking; bond; high performance FRCC; fiber reinforced concrete; structural applications of FRCC.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Identify the fiber types, matrix types, and properties of fiber reinforced cementitious composites (FRCC).
- Examine the tensile and compressive response of fiber reinforced cementitious composites.
- Analyze FRCC structural members under flexural and shear loading.
- Characterize fiber reinforced cementitious composites and determine those suitable for structural design.
- Examine the structural applications of FRCC.
