Course Objectives

The course intends to introduce students to critical approaches to security


Course Content

Overcoming the security dilemma. Copenhagen School. Feminist approaches to security. Critical security studies. Human security. Post-structural approaches to security. International political sociology. Postcolonial approaches to security.


Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course students are expected to be familiar with critical approaches to security and critically analyse mainstream conceptualizations of security.
