Course Objectives

- ability to deal with the managerial issues related to international investing, financing, and exchange rate risk management,
Course Content
The first part of the course aims at introducing the student to foreign exchange markets, exchange rate determination theories, forecasting and international trade financing. A project on Turkey will be assigned. The second part of course deals with aspects of financial management for multinational corporations.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Describe how exchange rates are determined
- Analyze the functioning of currency markets.
- Understand and analyze parity conditions relating exchange rates and other economic indicators.
- Evaluate exchange rate related risk measures and the economic exposure.
- Describe and evaluate the use of currency futures, options and swaps to manage the risk of foreign exchange transactions.
- Describe the risks and benefits of international investing.
