Course Objectives
To further refine students’ reading and writing skills in advanced Ottoman scripts.
To expose students to a broader range of Ottoman manuscript sources, including legal, administrative, and literary texts.
To deepen their understanding of the stylistic and structural variations in Sülüs and Rika scripts.
To strengthen their ability to critically assess and interpret complex Ottoman documents.
To equip students with advanced methodological tools for conducting independent research in Ottoman historical studies.

Course Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
Read and accurately transcribe complex Ottoman manuscripts with a high degree of proficiency.
Write fluently in Sülüs and Rika, demonstrating an advanced understanding of their stylistic nuances.
Analyze and compare different script styles across various Ottoman historical sources.
Interpret and contextualize specialized terminology within diverse manuscript genres.
Conduct independent research utilizing advanced paleographic and transliteration techniques in Ottoman studies.
