Course Objectives

At the end of this course, students will learn:

  • fundementals of Group theory in general
  • about the SU(N) Groups and its application to particle physics
  • anomalies in gauge theories
  • how to calculate QCD corrections in weak processes
  • anomalous dimensions of operators and Wilson product expansion
  • non-perturbative aspects of QCD
  • consequences of the hypothesis of vector current conservation and partially conserved axial vector current

Course Content

Group theory, anomalies in gauge theories, Wilson operator expansion in gauge theories, current algebra, CVC and PCAC.


Course Learning Outcomes

Students, who passed the course satisfactorily will be able to:

  • do in-dept calculations in this field
  • develop a deeper understanding of varoius issues and their immediate implications in gauge theories
  • understand all the necessary machinery to compute main elements of relevant observables
