Course Objectives
By the end of the course, the students will comprehend definitions and concepts, legislative and administrative frameworks and relevant problems connected to historic environments, both in national and international level.
Course Content
Discussions on subjects such as: the methods and techniques of survey in historic areas, of project making and implementation, the issues on legal and administrative aspects of preservation in different countries and their evaluation with special emphasis on Turkey, case studies on existing examples throughout seminars.
Course Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- develop awareness towards the conservation of historic environments considering their diverse character.
- gather knowledge on international/national concepts, norms, current problems and issues related with historic site conservation; administrative and legislative processes and existing tools to be used/developed in Turkey’s conservation planning processes,
- develop skills in solving conservation problems in historic environments and to use legislative processes and tools.
