Course Objectives

To cover research methods, academic and professional ethics in general and the main single-leg and network Revenue Management (RM) problems and models in the literature.

This course is designed to promote research interest in various areas of industrial engineering. References and state-of-the-art papers are discussed.

There will be occasional lectures. However, majority of the classes will be paper presentations and discussions led by the students. Throughout the paper discussions, the students are expected to demonstrate a deep understanding of the paper in terms of the problem studied, authors' approach, tools used, major results, contribution, and weaknesses. The students are also expected to develop a research project by the end of the semester.
