  • Apply career planning strategies and steps
  • Recognize assessment tools  that are relevant to career planning and decision making
  • Apply career program development planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation
  • Analyze how ethical issues that impact the work of career counselors

Course Content

Survey and critical analysis of theory and research on career choice and adjustment. Definition and correlates of career preferences, choices, motivation, success and satisfaction. Developmental trends in career decision making and career patterns.

  • Know  and apply career counseling processes and techniques

  • Apply skills and strategies to make educational and occupational decisions and plans, placement, follow-up, and evaluation
  • Know career assessment tools and information that are relevant to career planning and decision making
  • Apply skills in career program development planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation
  • Understand  ethical issues that impact the work of career counselors
