Course Objectives

At the end of this course, the student will

  • draft a structure for a text
  • write a text by complying expression rules
  • create a subject in a text
  • know basic rules for good written Turkish.

Course Content

Written expression; composition and punctuation rules; types of written expression; colloquial literary, scientific and official language; criticism; searching and using sources; classroom exercises and discussions concerning all the subjects. Prerequisite: TURK 305


Course Learning Outcomes

Students, who passed the course satisfactorily will be able to:

  • research on the subject will be written
  • create outline before writing
  • express the opinions and feelings clearly as in writing
  • use correct language vocabulary, structures in written expression
  • know the characteristics of literary genres and didactic genres
  • evaluates the text according to genres
  • distinguish the fiction and non-fiction.
