Course Objectives

This course aims to equip students with the essential skills and ethical foundations for conducting scientific research, including formulating statistical research questions, applying appropriate statistical methods, reviewing literature, and adhering to academic integrity. Students will also gain practical knowledge in thesis writing, publication ethics, and effective research presentation.


Course Content

Research design in the field of statistics following ethical standards, ethical issues in scientific research, how to write a thesis with ethics, journal types, publication types, citations, plagiarism, how to be a graduate student, how to be a researcher.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1- To understand the aim of research

2- To understand how to start a research 

3- To understand ethics when conducting research

4- To understand the process of writing a MSc. and Ph.D. thesis

5- To understand the philosophy of graduate studies

6- To understand the use of Statistics in Research

7- To promote humane and ethical awareness for research in Statistics

8- To give students critical insight into their own ethical decision-making processes
