Offered Semester:Fall Semesters.

Course Objectives

The goal of this course is to introduce students to the basic probability theoryis by describing the sample space, events, basic combinatorial probability, conditional probability, Bayes’ theorem, independence, random variables, distributions and the expectation.

Course Content

Sample space, events, basic combinatorial probability, conditional probability, Bayes theorem, independence, random variables, distributions, expectation.

Course Learning Outcomes

Statisticians face with specific statistical problems in many areas. Therefore, it is a necessity for a statistician to know probability theory well in order to provide different approaches as solutions to these problems. By this course, the fundamental concepts in the basic probability theory can be understandable for the students.
