Course Objectives

In this course, students will learn basic concepts of statistics and their applications in educational research as well as the use of SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) program.  The outputs of the program will be discussed and explained in the classroom. 


Course Content

Inferential statistics, including sampling, test for significance, ANOVA techniques and regression analysis.


Course Learning Outcomes

 It is expected that by the end of the semester, the students will be able to (1) choose the most suitable statistical analysis for a given research question and/or data set, (2) run the related computer program and module for a given data set, (3) understand and interpret the given computer output, (4) understand the functions and the use of univariate statistical techniques.
