Course Objectives

By the end of this course, PhD students at Psychology programme will be familiar with the research interests and data from different disciplines of psychology conducted at METU.

 


Course Content

Discussion of cutting edge research in developmental, social, clinical, cognitive, health, traffic, industrial and organizational psychology and biopsychology


Course Learning Outcomes

Upon the completion of this course, PhD students will be able to:

  • incorporate the critical elements constituting open science practices in their research
  • critique western psychological knowledge and psychotherapy applications from a cultural perspective
  • interpret the role of basic psychological science in applied fields such as organizational psychology, criminal psychology, traffic and transportation psychology, and psychoanalysis
  • draw similarities and construct links between their intended PhD research and other broad disciplines
