Course Objectives
Students learn major topics in social psychology. They gain knowledge about theoretical and empirical areas in social psychology literature. Students develop skills to apply social psychological knowledge to real life.
Course Content
Introduction to the field and methods of social psychology; historical perspective, review of theoretical and empirical work related to areas such as social perception, cognition, attitude formation, change and measurement.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Students learn a range of research and theories in classic and contemporary social psychology.
- Students develop an understanding of central debates within the discipline.
- Students develop intellectual skills in the critical analysis of social psychological theories and in the evaluation of empirical research.
- Students can apply social psychological theories to solve real-life problems.
