Course Objectives
Students become familiar with the currents of thought in the twentieth century continental and American philosophy.
They develop critical thinking in coming to understand the themes and the central problems of the twentieth century philosophy They develop interpretative skills in reading the relevant original texts.
Course Content
The Kantian influence. Positivism, naturalism, pragmatism, neo-positivism.

By the end of the term, the students will have
*received an extensive knowledge about the main currents of thought in the twentieth century continental philosophy and early American pragmatism
*gained interpretative skills by a close reading of the original texts.
* gained in depth knowledge regarding the prominent themes and problems of the era.
