Course Objectives
By the end of the semester, students will be able to;
1) Know the role of the game designer and what a game is
2) Interpret the environment and design a game for students/participants.
3)To create a game related to the movement concepts and skills for children
4)Distinguish the pedagogical approach in educational games
5) Understand the basic principles of game design and recognize the key responsibilities and skills required to be an effective game designer, particularly in educational games.
6) To organize physical activities and games according to different topics, various materials and based on students’ needs
7)Implement a rigorous testing process to evaluate the game's functionality, usability, and educational effectiveness. Use feedback to iterate and improve the game design.
8) Apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the course to create a fully functional educational game, ready for implementation and use in real-world educational settings
Course Content
The scope of the course includes the importance of play for children, its effect on child development, play environment and tools, teaching basic movement concepts with play, game selection, individual and group games, games that develop coordination, games with rhythmic activities, game material preparation and playing.
