Course Objectives
By the end of the semester, students will be able to;
Understand the fundamentals of physical activity, public health, and related policies and research.
Explain the interaction between the physical activity, and health.
Identify the health effects of exercise and physical activity.
Explain the health benefits and risks of participation in physical activity.
Discuss the ways of physical activity promotion for different settings. Analyze the physical activity and health policies at national and international level.
Analyze the quality of the physical activity and exercise programs offered for public health.
Synthesize class content and make reflections about physical activity and public health via classroom discussions and assignments
Use all kinds of technologies for preparing classroom presentations and class projects.
Work independently and work in a team during the classroom activities.
Demonstrate professionalism and utilize communication skills during the class period.
Use English language at advanced level for writing and speaking during the class activities.
Demonstrate and behave in accordance with ethical values in personal and professional life.
Course Content
The scope of this course includes developing an understanding of the link between physical activity and public health, foundations of physical activity and public health, effects of exercise and physical activity on health, and the strategies for effective physical activity promotion
