Course Objectives

By the end of the course, successful students will be able to:

  • comprehend the intricate relation between selected psychological and psychoanalytic theories and literary texts,
  • critically discuss and interpret the psychological and psychoanalytic texts that have profoundly influenced literary activity,
  • extrapolate meaning from narratives of different genres using different psychological and psychoanalytic frameworks.

 


Course Content

Basic principles, concepts, and theories of psychology are introduced together with relevant trends in literature to form a bridge between psychological trends and literary activity.


Course Learning Outcomes

• Demonstrate critical thinking by evaluating how the authors’ stylistic choices shape readers’ understanding of complex themes such as isolation, otherness, and societal obligation.

• Communicate effectively in both oral and written formats, providing reasoned arguments and evidence-based insights about the assigned texts.
