Course Objectives
At the end of the course students will
have a general perspective of literature produced in Britain from the Middle Ages to the Romantic Period.
know and understand representative texts from the Middle Ages to the Romantic Period from within relevant aesthetic, cultural, political and philosophical contexts.
Course Content
Intensive study of advanced level literary texts representing different priods and genres of English literature.

At the end of this course students will be able to
identify representative authors and texts from the Middle Ages to the Romantic Period.
identify major social, cultural and historical events and ideas from the Middle Ages to the Romantic Period.
analyze representative texts from the Middle Ages to the Romantic Period from within relevant historical, aesthetic, cultural, political and philosophical contexts.
compare and contrast representative texts, movements and ideas from the Middle Ages to the Romantic Period.
