Course Objectives


Course Content

Natural and technological hazards and their impacts as subjects of policy; forms and levels of disaster policies; pre-disaster and post-disaster policy orientations; conflicts in natural and social systems and processes;
central and local administrations and disasters; operational tools of policy, emergency management; risk avoidance, minimization, and sharing; administrative and legal structures in disaster management; hazard and risk assessment mitigation planning and its tools; safety standards in land use; policies to upgrade safety in existing urban areas; appropriate structuring of risk sharing mechanisms and insurance; training, professional and public education.
