Course Objectives
Understand the relevance of theoretical linguistics training to language teaching, with practical applications.
Course Content
Examining contributions of linguistics to the field of foreign language teaching, including current approaches to the linguistic analysis of English.
Course Learning Outcomes
Students will refresh their knowledge of basic linguistics and encounter a number of practical curriculum ideas for making use of such knowledge in the classroom. By the end of the course they will have designed and implemented at least one lesson plan that does so, with subsequent opportunity for reflection on its implementation and future improvements.
