Course Objectives
By the end of the course, the students will
become familiar with major issues and criteria in the design and evaluation ELT programs
be able to analyze research studies that have been conducted for the purpose of evaluating ELT programs.
Course Content
Concepts of measurement and evaluation; preparation and use of measurement tools in evaluation and decision-making; models of program evaluation; processes of evaluation; standards for the evaluation of effectiveness of instruction, courses, syllabuses, materials; applying these to hypothetical/real cases with a view of accountability in English language education.

Students who have satisfactorily completed the course will be able to
- design ELT programs
- analyze research studies that have been conducted for ELT program evaluation
- design and conduct research studies that evaluate ELT programs
- revise ELT programs based on results of evaluation studies
