Course Objectives
The objectives of this course are to:
- Gain an understanding of the interaction between theory and practice in Psychological Counseling in terms of its significance and implications.
- Develop an understanding of the role of theory in organizing our thinking about human behavior and counseling.
- Develop an understanding of the common aspects of the counseling process and outcomes.
Course Content
Discussion of new approaches and their applications to different counseling settings.

The students completing this course are expected to:
- comprehend historical context, theoretical basis, basic concepts, therapeutic process, and research directions of each theory
- examine the concepts and applications of each theory to counseling
- discuss cultural relevance of each theory
- apply various skills and techniques of each theory
