Course Objectives
At the end of this course students will learn:
- Basic concepts and ideas related to needs assessment.
- Steps of conducting a needs assessment study.
- Methods of conducting a needs assessment study.
- Summarizing the data, setting needs priorities and giving recommendations.
Course Content
Theoretical and practical basis of needs assessment in preservice and in-service training programs; quantitative and qualitative approaches applied to determining needs.
Course Learning Outcomes
Students who complete the course successfully will be able to;
1. demonstrate an understanding of basic concepts and ideas related to needs assessment.
2. demonstrate an understanding of needs assessment techniques.
3. identify which data gathering method to employ in a needs assessment.
4. present a summary of an article on NA process.
5. conduct a needs assessment study by working in groups.
