Course Objectives


Course Content

This course focuses on understanding and application of basic concepts and principles of descriptive and inferential statistics pertaining educational research. Topics covered in this course include review of descriptive statistics, correlation and regression analysis, and comparisons of means.


Course Learning Outcomes

After completing the course, students will be able to:
• Identify the basic concepts of statistics,
• Differentiate between descriptive and inferential statistics as part of quantitative data
analysis,
• Use inferential statistics to test hypotheses,
• Select appropriate statistical methods (decision making) to analyze quantitative data,
• Compare the characteristics of the parametric and the nonparametric tests,
• Use SPSS to conduct statistical analyses,
• Report SPSS outputs in APA style
