Course Objectives
By the end of this course students will get a fundamental understanding of the underlining physics principles related to specific instrumentation used for infrared, Raman, surface analysis techniques.It will also provide the student with an appreciation of the relative strengths and limitations of these methods.

On successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
1. understand and be able to apply the theory and operational principles of the aforementioned analytical instruments.
2. recognize their advantages and limitations
3. integrate these techniques to solve analytical problems such as chemical analsis in bulk and surface , topographical analysis and imaging
