Course Objectives

  • Underline major developments in the field of learning and teaching so as to understand the function of instructional technology in the learning process.
  • Explain learning theories that form bases in selecting instructional media and materials.
  • Provide the background and skills needed to prepare and use a wide range of instructional materials.
  • Distinguish basic advantages and disadvantages of the main instructional media and materials.
  • Provide practice to assure effective preparation and the use of instructional materials.

Course Content

This course underlines major implications of learning theories as they are applied into development of instructional materials. The course introduces all major types and formats of instructional media including audio, visual, audio-visual, computers, and so on. The course also provides the necessary background and skills in selection, development, and assessment of all types of instructional media and materials.
