Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to teach students the basic managerial accounting concepts for effective use of organisational resources to create customer and shareholder value.


Course Content

Introduction to managerial accounting. Accounting as an informational system to provide managers with the basis for decision making. Includes basic CVP analysis, job and process costing, standard costing and variance analysis, as well as specific situational decision-making matrices.

On successful completion of this course, all students will have developed knowledge and understanding of

  • Different costing systems and cost behavior Analysis
  • How changes in costs and volume affect a company’s profits
  • Identifying and explaining the variances between planned and actual costs

  • How to make pricing decisions, including target costing and transfer pricing
