Course Objectives
This course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective project planning and management in construction. By the end of the course, students will be able to apply advanced planning techniques such as CPM, PERT, and PDM to optimize project timelines and resource allocation. They will develop competencies in scheduling methodologies, construction budgeting, and material flow control to enhance project efficiency. Additionally, students will gain hands-on experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) applications, including 4D scheduling for project visualization, model-based quantity takeoffs for precise material estimation, clash detection for preemptive conflict resolution, and BIM-driven cost estimation for improved financial planning. The course also fosters critical decision-making skills, enabling students to analyze project constraints and implement data-driven solutions for successful project execution.
Course Content
Various project planning techniques CPM, PERT, PDM, resource allocation and scheduling; budgeting for construction; material flow, planning and control, decision making techniques.
