Course Objectives

To learn basic techniques to learn the structure of cellular organelles, handling of cells and mammalian tissue culture.


Course Content

Practice of fundamental staining techniques employed to study cellular and subcellular structures. The techniques include; cytochemical methods, sub-cellular fractionation, cell cultures, karyotyping, and permanent slide preparation.


Course Learning Outcomes

Students can learn the salient features needed to work in a lab, be comfortable with handling of cells,  work in a sterile manner and observe the structure and functions of different cellular organelles.
