Course Objectives
At the end of the course, the students will have developed a critical understanding of the implications of different national cultures for business and management practice in domestic and international markets and have improved their teamwork and presentations skills through interactive learning.
Course Content
This course aims to broaden the approach to Organizational Behavior that has been primarily taught with an U.S. based understanding. Variations across cultures and their impact on organizations are discussed.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon the completion of the course, the students will be able to
- understand the global context of cross-cultural management and the influence of different cultural and religious characteristics on business and management.
- explain the role of cross-cultural communication in business.
- discuss leadership, motivation, negotiation, conflict management, and human resource management across cultures.
- know about ethical issues in cross-cultural settings.
- be aware of and criticize ethnocentric business practices.
- show improved teamwork and presentation skills developed through the group project and activities.
