Course Objectives

At the end of this course, the student will:

- Express ideas and opening discussions on social and current issues

- Discuss topics by giving examples

-Converse with Turkish native speakers

-Discuss personal, social, current issues by using convenient structures

-Understand the meaning and themes in articles and news and interpreting

-Make oral presentations on a chosen topic by

-Using language effectively and fluently

-Knowing Turkish language's pronunciation features

-Discussing a matter in a speech


Course Content

Designed as a transition to introduce Turkish Literature through comparatively simple texts on folk poetry and short stories from twentieth century Turkish Literature.
Prerequisite: TURK 105, 106, 107, 108, 201 and 202


Course Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course student will be able to:

-Understand the meaning of complex sentences through different listening material ( adverts, news, interviews)

-Learning the features and practices of written language and showing with examples

-Improving vocabulary with the help of texts

-Gaining the habit of obeying spelling rules and and using punctuation marks appropriately

-Removing incomprehensibility

-Writing opinions, experiences and observations, qualifying creating and interpreting skills

-Express the opinions and feelings clearly as in writing

-Using Turkish Language in accordance with the spelling rules in his/her academic works such as thesis (undergraduate, master, PhD)

-Being active in workshops and presentations, having sense of mission
