We will attempt to cover contemporary data analysis (mainly machine learning and regularization) methods with the help of the following technologies:
- UNIX
- Data visualization
- R
- Python
This course provides the reader with valuable hands-on experience.
Course Content
Introduction to methods for analyzing experimental and observational data. Useful display of univariate and multivariate data. Exploratory data analysis. Transforming data. Detecting and handling outliers. Examining residuals. Resistant lines. Robust estimation. Approaches to handling missing data. Analysis of categorical data. Data mining.
Course Learning Outcomes
Advanced programming skills.
Knowledge of machine learning methods.
Knowledge of regularization methods (such as LASSO, SCAD).
Practice on Mixed Models.
Development of scientific research and reading skills.
