Through student presentations, guest lectures, and group discussions, the course aims to develop students' critical thinking, scientific communication, and professional skills. It also encourages engagement with contemporary statistical challenges and fosters collaboration and academic growth in preparation for research or industry careers.

Course Content

In this course, students will attend the seminars given by academicians or experts who are using Statistics. This course helps graduate students to learn how to conduct a research, how to raise questions and how to be interrogative and how to present their research.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Critically evaluate current research papers and presentations in statistics and related fields.

  • Present statistical topics effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences using appropriate visual and verbal communication tools.

  • Engage in academic discussions by asking insightful questions and providing constructive feedback on others’ work.

  • Synthesize knowledge from various statistical domains to understand emerging trends and interdisciplinary applications.

  • Demonstrate professional skills such as scientific writing, peer review, and ethical research practices.

  • Build confidence and experience in public speaking and academic discourse, preparing for thesis defense, conferences, or industry presentations.
