Course Objectives

Theories of Personality course aims to introduce students to different theories and approaches to the study of personality and personality assessment. As a part of this unit, students are expected to:

  • be able to define personality
  • critically evaluate and compare different theories in personality
  • be able to gain an understanding of main approaches to personality theory
  • understand and appreciate the limitations of each approach     
  • familiarise themselves with various methods of personality assessment

Course Content

A survey of different theories and approaches to the study of personality. Comparison, critique and evaluation of different theories.


Course Learning Outcomes
