Course Objectives

This course is an introduction to ethical issues inherent in the conduct of psychological research and practice.  Topics on ethical issues and dilemmas relevant in different fields of studies, including therapy, clinical and organizational assessment, training, consulting, and forensic issues will be covered during the semester.  

 


Course Content

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to demonstrate the following:

1. To help students realize the communalities as well as the differences between the concepts of ethics, morality, and law.

2. To familiarize students with the Codes of Conduct and Ethical Principles of APA, EFPA, and TPD.

3. To familiarize students with contemporary ethical and professional conduct issues facing psychologists as both researchers and practitioners.

4. To raise students’ consciousness concerning ethical issues and dilemmas.

5. To provide students with guidelines for evaluating and resolving ethical dilemmas.
