Course Objectives
- To facilitate the development of therapy skills, including assessment, conceptualization, treatment planning, and intervention.
- To increase skills in making good use of supervision
- To increase awareness and skills in using oneself and one's reactions as a tool in therapy.
- To develop students' theoretical orientation
- To facilitate learning intervention techniques from a variety of orientations
- To gain an understanding of what it means to operate in a professional manner.
Course Content
This series of courses will provide supervised practical experience to the students in clinical/field settings. The students will be required to attend weekly discussion sessions in the department. Areas and settings in which practice will be offered will be announced each semester.

- Use various assessment methods, such as objective assessment methods, clinical interview methods
- Conceptualize client's presenting problems within a clinical framework
- Plan clinical treatment

- Receive feedback from supervisor
- Evaluate feedback and determine personal appropriateness
- Make necessary changes in therapy setting based on feedback
- To increase awareness and skills in using oneself and one's reactions as a tool in therapy.

- Differentiate countertransference from therapist reactions based on client's interpersonal style
