Course Objectives

The class has a strong emphasis on Open Science Practices. Students will learn the basic principles of experimental design along with the strenghts and weaknesses of various research designs. They will also learn how to analyze data from such experiments using ANOVA with a Model Comparison Perspective. Open Source JASP program will be used for statistical analyses. 


Course Content

A course on advanced experimental design and data analysis with a model comparison perspective. Topics on basic conceptual basis of experimental design, logic of experimental design, model comparison for between subjects and within subjects designs.


Course Learning Outcomes

Students will learn the basic principles of experimental design along with the strenghts and weaknesses of various research designs. They will also learn how to analyze data from such experiments using ANOVA.

We will use JASP as our statistical package, which is free and easy to use.
