Course Objectives

This course aims to provide  basic knowledge of assessment in counseling settings. It includes the review of various assessments utilized in counseling settings. The objective of this course is to display the graduate student to a well-rounded view of assessment procedures and practices.


Course Content

Research, theory and basic procedures including observational, interview, objective, projective, and behavioral techniques.


Course Learning Outcomes

  • Familiarity with social and cultural factors related to clinical assessment.
  • Understanding and recognizing the ethical issues related to selection,application,  interpretation and reporting of clinical assessment instruments and techniques
