Course Objectives
1. The students are expected to gain a deep insight about how the human mind is affected during/after traumatic experiences.
2. Understand trauma especially from a psychoanalytic perspective.
3. Learn different explanations of the symptoms
4. Examples will be discussed wrt disasters
Course Content
This course is designed to provide some knowledge of trauma psychology. Students are expected to understand the basic concepts about psychological trauma. Students will be able to understand how traumatic experiences have an impact or in some cases form the personality. Some therapy techniques and case histories will be discussed in class. The students will have a chance to form a bridge between theory and practice.
Course Learning Outcomes
1. The students will be able to understand how to formulate the responses of traumatised people and work with them
2. The students will have a chance to consider/discuss several related concepts such as social support, personsal histort, etc. of related with traumatic events
3. They will have a better understanding of working in psychotherapy with their future clients
4. They will have an understanding of the social, political, economical and individual variables related with disasters
